So what made us so hopeful that one day, Proton would produce something similar and call it the Proton X80?
For one, Proton has trademarked the names “X80” and “X90”.
Two, Geely owns substantial shares in Proton.
Three, the hopeful thought itself has got all of us hyped up already!
Imagine if the X80 were to exist, wouldn’t that be amazing?!

The Geely XingYue S boasts a sleek, sporty and aggressive look. In many angles, the Geely XingYue S or potentially the Proton X80, looks similar to the luxurious BMW X4. The interior cops a sporty design with comfy seats, the SUV is a well-rounded car inside out, promising a head-turning presence. In short, they combine Eastern and Western elements together to create a perfect symphony of the two regions.
2. Great performance
The XingYue offers owners a unique experience thanks to its varying engine configurations, including a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged unit, the exact same one that gives Volvo XC40 its power, capable of delivering a powerful drive up to 238 horses, depending on the variation you choose. You can expect it’s a car full of power, ready for you to access at one pedal away.
